Anthony Wilson Bike Check

Anthony Wilson is easily one of my favorite people to ride with.  He has a super fun attitude, works hard, has his own ideas and does it all with style. Here is his watermelon green Funday with matching Morning 2.1 forks and black magic Victory bars.  He’s always been one of those guys that is good at just about anything he tries.  Check out the threader feeble grind in the flipbook which is at some spot in Buffalo that I don’t know about.  Thanks to Charlie Crumlish for the photos.

Behind the scenes:
Magallan’s Ride BMX TOC

Alex Magallan just scored the table of contents photo in the August 2011 Ride BMX.  Here’s a behind the scenes photo of Jeff Z setting up for the photo.  I would’ve had the actual shot that you see in the magazine, but I was talking to the security guards trying to buy enough time for Alex and Jeff to get the photo.  I never actually saw it happen, but I did see the security guard’s facial reaction after Alex did the move first try.  It was nice to sort of feel like we won in this case.

Ed’s Games!

View Gallery

Earlier this month, Gary Young, Lee Dennis, Jake Seeley and I  went out to New Jersey to attend the 3rd Annual Ed’s Games in Vineland, NJ.  Ed’s Bike Shop is easily one of the best shops in the country and we had a blast riding with all the local guys.  We even got to session a wild bowl/ramp in the woods that had deer skulls around the outside.  They even had a pet raccoon named Rocky.  This ramp had just about everything you could imagine even a curved wall ride where a quaterpipe would normally be.  Needless to say, we rode late into the night.  Here’s a bunch of photos from Ed’s, the ramp and some days in NYC and Philly.  We can’t wait til next year.

Benefit Sweeper

On Saturday, T-1 held the Mike Tag Benefit jam to raise money to help Mike fight Stage ll Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma which he was diagnosed with in April.  Mike, longtime FBM rider, was easily one of most respected street riders in the mid-late 90’s and early 2000’s.  When you thought of street riding, Mike was easily considered to be the guage that all street riders were to be measured against.  His riding was raw with a powerful style and he pushed riding into scary directions where most were nervous to go.  I remember him telling me that it was totally possible to smith grind down brick ledges and this was before you even double pegged brick ledges.  He definitely opened my eyes.  There are a bunch of upcoming benefit events for Mike, so stay tuned. If you can’t make it then feel free to make a donation HERE.  Check out more photos from the jam at ESPN and thanks to Sandy Carson for the photo.
