Trail Squad Fall Trip 2011

The Trail Squad took it’s annual pilgrimmage to the northeast last fall. Scot Draper, Chris Hilbrich, Aaron Day, Bobby DeLaat and Logan Beyhl traveled by van from Austin, TX to Pawtucket, RI over a 12 day period.  Accompanied by dogs Hershel and Digger, they hit up trails and skateparks in Chicago, Cleveland, all over Pennsylvannia, New York, Long Island and Rhode Island.  Lots of BMX, digging, backyards, woods, BBQ, friends, good times and driving made for a super good time.  Bonus is Gary Young showing up for the last days.

TJ Henderson:
Take It

TJ Henderson brings a unique view of riding into his latest web video. He seems like a guy that can do whatever trick he wants to do, so he chooses the more obscure tricks. There’s not much cooler looking than roller backwards at a quarterpipe with a freecoaster. Lots of good moves in here.

Look for an interview with him on Monday, but check his Forecaster bike check after the break.

Welcome to the Team
Erik Elstran

Erik Elstran is simply one of the most creative riders in BMX today. We are beyond excited to have him apart of Sunday.  He’s on the AM team now, but he will no doubt move up quickly if he keeps coming up with videos like this. Enjoy!

Sun-Dazed at Woodward West

Last summer’s Sunday Week at Woodward West was a blast. Aaron Ross, Gary Young, Jake Seeley, Eric Lichtenberger, Lee Dennis and Jim Cielencki spent 7 glorious days riding the camp, bouncing on trampolines, jumping Mega Ramp, jumping in foam pits, drinking milkshakes and riding with all the rad campers. Such a good time that I think we are doing it again this summer. Already can’t wait for summer!

Baltic Triangle Tour

Gary Young, Andrew Brady and I had a fun adventure traveling in a triangular pattern around the Baltic Sea at the end of summer.  All of our traveling these days seems to involve a car, so we wanted to do this one differently.  All travel was done by ferry, train and bicycle. Although, we did succumbed to traveling by car two times.  This trip was a blast!  Thanks to Signature BMX, Sunshine Distribution, Mystic BMX, Childstore BMX, Risto at Simpel Session and all the locals we meet along the way.

Jim C’s video bike check

Check out this video bike check of the new Blue Wave Third Wave with matching Tall T bars and Morning 2.1 forks that I just built up. For some reason, I’ve always liked blue bikes. The prototype for my first signature frame was blue and come to think of it there’s been 4-5 other blue bikes in my past. Right now, I have a blue Wave C built up as well. Well, this bike continues my fascination of blue. Enjoy!

Introducing the 2012 Scout

Here is Chris Hilbrich riding the new 2012 Scout. If you’re looking to go fast, jump far and ride some trails then this is the bike for you. It has a 21.25″ top tube and 14″ rear end length which is super stable at high speeds. The parts package includes 6 different Odyssey parts like Quadrant rims, Aitken tires, Monolever, Quick Slic brake cable, Aitken pivotal seat and Twisted PC pedals. The bike also includes Sunday Word Bubble grips and Sabretooth sprocket. Available in early October.

Sunday Team at Texas Toast

Texas Toast may have come and gone, but the fun memories are still lingering.  The weekend was so much fun, the whole PRO team came out to chill, ride and survive the hot weather.  Three out of the five people that got through the Gauntlet of Death were from the Sunday team. Gary Young, Jake Seeley and Alex Magallan all made it through. Gary continued his good weekend by winning both the curved wallride contest and the dirt jump event. It was super windy and hot, but everyone had a blast. Can’t wait for the next one. This video captures some moments of the team during the weekend.  Enjoy!

TJ Henderson

It is with a heavy heart that we break this news. The legendary 45th St Ditch in Austin Texas has finally met it’s demise. This spot has seen some amazing riding over the years. From Joe Rich’s interview in Props 34 to a recent game of bike between Aaron Ross and Chase Hawk, the 45th St Ditch has been around for well over a decade. Sunday Bikes would to send our final farewell to this simple basic spot that has held countless hours of fun over the years with this video of Sunday AM team rider, TJ Henderson. 45th St Ditch, you will be missed!!
