We made it to Estonia!

Well after an amazing time at Simpel Summer Session, we used today as a day of rest and travel.  We just arrived in Tallinn, Estonia after taking the ferry ride across the Baltic Sea. Traveling by ferry is one of the coolest ways to go if you ask me.  Gary Young, Andrew Brady and myself will be here for a few days before we head over to Stockholm, Sweden later in the week.  We will be hitting up Mystic BMX sometime tomorrow.

If you didn’t know, Gary Young won Simpel Summer Session.  Check out this photo of him being carried to the podium.

Sunday Friends: David Ireland

David Ireland sent me a picture of his 2011 Gary Young Big Blue EX for this Sunday Friends.  He bought it at Circuit BMX in Pawtucket, RI. Thanks David, your bike looks awesome!

Gary Young wins summer Simpel Session!

Gary Young took the win at yesterday’s summer Simpel Session (AKA Stadi Session) in Helsinki, Finland.  In usually Gary Young form, he blazed his way around the course firing out all sorts of jumping variations, doing gaps to rails and finding lines that no one else could.  All of this is done at high speeds.  Big congrats Gary!  It was a pleasure to watch! Helsinki so far!

Well, we’ve been in Helsinki since Wednesday and it’s been nothing but fun. Somehow we’ve managed to fight off jet leg relatively easy.  Not sure exactly how we did it, but maybe it was riding the Signature BMX warehouse mini ramp then hitting up the huge wooden skatepark on the northwest side of the city. Gary Young has been destroying every spot we’ve gone to so far.  Today is the big contest day with the Stadi Session (AKA Simpel Session) going down in a few hours.  The weather turned out to be sunny with no rain, but there is a bunch of wind.  More updates soon!

Jeff Grindstaff Hop

Check out this spot that Jeff Grindstaff is riding.  It’s weird to see a rail with no stairs outside of a skatepark, but here is one.  Jeff rides for us through Angry Penguin in Johnson City, TN.  Photo Jake Hunter

Sunday Friends: Sean Groce

Check out Sean Groce’s Sunday Friends.  Here is his super clean 2011 Sunday Scout which is designed for going fast and riding dirt.  He also made a very good pedal choice by running the orange soda Odyssey JCPC pedals. Nice bike Sean!

Jake under the knife

Jake Seeley is going under the knife today to get his knee cleaned out.  Not sure if he’s following Garrett Reeves’ lead, who had knee surgery last week, but Jake should be healed up soon and be back on his bike in just a few weeks.  Good luck Jake and heal up quickly.

Sunday at Summer Simpel

Sunday is heading to Helsinki this week to hit up the summer Simpel Session contest on August 20th.  I guess it’s called Stadi Session during the summer. Gary Young, Aaron Ross and Jim Cielencki will be there.  Alex Magallan had to pull out due to his broken arm suffered this weekend.  Some of us will be staying in the area for a bunch of days afterwards, so be on the lookout. We might even make it to Tallinn and Stockholm.  Can’t wait!

Sunday New England Shop Tour!

Some of the Sunday team will be visiting bike shops in New England at the end of September.  Come hang out with  Eric Litchenberger, Aaron Ross, Jake Seeley, Gary Young, Scot Draper and Jim Cielencki!  There is a lot of fun stuff planned for each stop.  If you live anywhere close to one of these awesome bike shops, make sure to come and hang out with the team!

Alex Magallan out!

Alex Magallan had a bout of birthday bad luck this weekend and broke his arm riding his local trail spot.  His birthday was last Saturday, so to celebrate he put a new bike together and took it to the trails.  Unfortunately, a roller got the best of him.  He should be healed up and on his bike in about 6 weeks. Happy belated birthday and heal up quick Alex!

Model C in Complex!

Complex Magazine did a brief interview with me about the Model C’s geometry, history and our 24″ BMX lineup.  Their main focus was the 2011 Model C PRO, but it’s hard not to talk about all the other aspects as well.  Pretty cool!  Check it out HERE.

Project Model C Part III

The guys over at Plus Size BMX coming through again with the third installment of the Project Model C video.  In this series, they ask all types of riders to give their feedback after riding riding a Model C 24″ BMX.  We’ve always said that it feels just like a 20″ just scaled up and it seems like everyone confirms this.  There’s a bonus in this video.  At the end, there’s the footage of Jon Faure becomes the oldest person to jump Mega Ramp.  So sick Jon!
