Ian is currently out in Portland, Oregon riding, filming, and smoking cigars. The Lotek site has a bunch of pictures from his daily adventures. You may also get a sneak-peak of some stuff. Click on the picture to check them out.
Sunday Rider Photos!
There have been quite a few rider siting around the web this week and here is some of them.
There is a really cool photo of Kurt in the Staff Photo Section of BMX Online. Click the image to check it out.
BMX Online also made a bunch of Desktop Wallpapers out of some of the images from the Photo Issue. The photo we shot on the ledges that matched our bikes was one of them. Click the image to check them out.
If you stop by the Empire Cycle Supply site and visit their Gallery section you will see that Stephen Savage has a pretty cool Desktop Wallpaper. Click the image to check it out.
Ben Hucke Ride Bikecheck!
I flowed Ben Hucke a bike a little while ago and he went right out and did an interview and bike check with the guy’s over at BMX Online. For who ever wanted more details on the bikes click the picture above or right here to check it out.
Mike Taylor’s new paint job!
Here is a photo of Mike Taylor’s new paint job. Mike has been known for his paint jobs, on the cover of Dig’s Issue 58 his bike is white with crackled paint all over it. There has been this thought that when the team guys have different color bikes it is because they are breaking their old frames and spray painting new frames. This is NOT true at all. Like most riders out there, the team spray paints their bikes to what color they are into. This allows us to come up with new colors for next year’s models.
Kurt Rasmusson added to main team!
Kurt Rasmusson has been moved up from the flow team to the main team. Kurt’s part in Standpoint’s Left Right sealed the deal for me. So how awesome was the rail to rail to rail and then duck under the chain? Kurt is damn good and I more stoked than ever to have him on the main team. Look for a get to know Kurt interview on here once he finishes school this week!
Vinnie update & more!
Vinnie Sammon has been busy lately. Not only has he had his signature colorway Sunday Wave frame come out recently, but he also resurrected Skavenger. Have your shop contact Animal to get them. Getting back to his frame, if you are waiting for mountless frames they will be here around the middle to late May, so don’t worry! Otherwise hurry because the other frames are going quickly!
Here is a photo of Jack Maddox’s Sunday! If you don’t know Jack, he had a section in Shook’s Put in Werk video and did the giant 180 at Georgia Tech in Atlanta.
Coverboy Mike!
Mike Taylor is the coverboy on the latest issue of Dig. Also, in issue 58 you can see Mike’s Meat the Streets article. Here is a good quote about him from the Dig site, “Warrington, England’s Mike Taylor might be the easiest BMXer to interview in the history of BMX. Within a month, he delivered ten pages of bangers and prompt responses to his interview questions. (In a word, he gets it…)”
Events this weekend!
Karl Poynter’s shop,Hardcore Sportz, is having a videopremier this Friday in Newcastle, so check it out if you are in the area.
One of my favorite parks Sixth Avenue is having a contest this Friday and Saturday!
The Twilight Jam is held in my former winter residence of Athens, Georga. This 4th annual event happens during one of the biggest road bike events in Georgia, so if you go expect to see a lot of spandex. The contest should be fun and Athens is always a great time!
Some Bike Checks!
There is nothing more motivating then when riders that you respect want to ride your stuff. Chris Arriaga and Ben Hucke are both on Sunday frames and their bikes are picture below. Chris has been a long time friend and a great rider as well as former teammate, so for him to want to ride a Sunday is awesome. Although I have never met Ben face to face, I have witness him ride many a time at the Vancouver Metro Jams. So again, for someone who rides that well to want to ride a Sunday is an honor.
Las Vegas Pool Session!
Kurt sent me these pics of his friends and himself on a trip to Ride Vegas a few weeks ago. Most of their time was spent searching high and low for new pools to ride. The pool in the picture is pretty cool. I almost seems like a normal rectangle pool, but the back wall is actually angled giving the pool a super tight under 90° corner.
Dean Dickenson, ready to dive in. Click for larger version.
Kurt, corner air in a less than 90° corner. Tight! Click for larger version.
Mini Team Update!
Karl Poyner got 14th at the JOMO Pro in Joplin, Missouri this weekend and ended up getting a nice photo on BMXONLINE. There is also some clips of him during the best trick contest which coincidently is also on Bmxonline.
Ian Schwartz has been figting with a broken wrist for the better part of a year now. He had a cast on for a few months last summer, but it didn’t work. He was suppose to get surgery this month, but decided to put it off until the fall. Summer is almost here and I don’t blame him for wanting to miss it. This picture shows Ian with a non-wrist related injury which was taken during the Padded Cell trip last September!
