Brakeless frames

Hey, I just got a picture of the BRAKELESS Sunday frames that should be available by the end of next week! I have been getting so many requests for this, so here they are! They come in 2 sizes, 20.5″ and 21″ and in 2 colors gray and red! And if you are worried there is a caliper brake hole in the brake bridge so you can put some sort of brake on if you want.

Randomness!

Let me start by saying that Sunday Bikes distributor Blackout received a new shipment of red and green frames earlier this week, so contact your shop or any of the mailorders to get your hands on a Sunday frame.

Check out 20TwentyStore from Aberdeen, Scottland and notice that Sunday made the ‘choice cuts’ not once, but twice!

There are a bunch of events coming up in the next little bit. First, on August 20th in Richmond, VA, Ramp Kill is happening. You can check out some of the ramps and stuff through the link! I would be there, but most of the shop’s skate team is going to NYC for the Back to the Banks Jam, so I am left to watch the shop! Here are some flyers for some other events coming up!

Hoder does Hollywood High!

You can check out team rider Mike Hoder on the cover of the new RideBMX US. This is a 16 stair 180 at the famous Hollywood High School! Apparently, he tried this a few times and completely blew up his front wheel. He came back another day and this is what you get. The trick is amazing and so is Jeff Zielinski’s photo! Congradulations to Mike for his first ever cover!

In other news, ask and you shall receive! SUNDAY FRAMES WITHOUT BRAKE MOUNTS will be available at the end of this month. They are only coming in 2 sizes-20.5 and 21 along with 2 colors-Gray and Red. Get them quickly because there has been a lot of request for this. Also, limited edition CHROME TRIUMPH BARS will be available around the same time. These will cost a little more because apparently chrome plating isn’t used as much. The last chrome frame I had was in 1997 and that was a long time ago.

Here is some more photos of people with Sunday frames:

Daniel Johnson
Jorden Guth

Jorden riding! I first met Jorden when I bought an Ottawa scene video from him at Metro this year!

Random news!

Let’s see what is happening in the Sunday world! Eli Platt’s first ever bike that isn’t a dark color can be seen below!

Ian Schwartz is still on the disabled list, he went to the doctor last week to get his cast off and start riding again, but his wrist isn’t healing fast enough. He has a removable splint, but has decided to hold out until the end of August so that it heals properly.
Mike Hoder has been on a tear lately, check out WoozyBMX to see a photo of what he has been doing. He “broke” his hand a week or so ago, but it feels pretty good as of late, but no big drop stuff yet.

I have been meaning to do this for a little bit, but I have asked people to send me some photos of their Sunday frames put together. If you have any photos of your Sunday frame together or you riding one then send them to me HERE!

News!!!!

Check out Dominik Wrobel’s bike along with his laundry! He is one of the few on the team who isn’t riding a gray Sunday frame. Also check out his website WoozyBMX.

Let’s see there is some other news, there is a limited quantity of Sunday frames with a 14.25″ rear end available. I have gotten requests for them, so they will be available real soon. Check the mailorders(Albes) and If you want your shop to have one then contact Sunday directly because they won’t be available through Blackout. Or just email ME and we will figure something out.

In team news, Ian Schwartz is so close to riding again! One week to go! But Mike Hoder hurt his hand trying to 180 out of a double wheel ride down a rail. He is waiting for the swelling to go down before getting it X-rayed. So wish him luck! Eli Platt is one month away from finishing his college degree! Vinnie Sammon was at the Brooklyn Banks filming a FuelTV commerical last time I talked with him. Karl Poynter has been doing what I have been doing working at his shop

A little Update!

Everything has been really busy like usual! Let me start off this update with some current photos of the teams bikes. It looks like the team is really fond of the gray color because in the last update, I had one. There are two more here and I know that everyone else is riding the same color. Hopefully photos to prove it next update!

Vinnie is now riding this bike-

And Karl is riding this bike-

Ian Schwartz is on the last stage of recovering from his broken wrist! He has been off his bike for about 2.5 months and I imagine he is anxious to ride some of the new parts that I sent him. Has anyone seen the Dan’s commercial in the newest Props? The one where Ian does the fakie to tailwhip footplant on a wall?

In bad news, Germany rider Christian Ziegler recently broke his leg riding trails! It was bad enought that he has been in the hospital for over a week! He got out today and should be healed up in about 3 months! Get healthy soon Christian!

For me, my injury news is that I fell on a 540 where my shoe came off and I immediately stuck my now shoeless foot into the spokes of my front wheel. It sounds a lot worse than it was, but my feet have gone through a lot in the past 9 months, so they aren’t too happy.

Now in retro news, I had the honor of working on a bubble gum pink Hutch Trickstar at the shop yesterday. If you don’t know Hutch, well let me help you. This bike is from around 1986 and it was the bike to have back then. My two favorite colors were candy apple red and electric blue which incidently is what I modeled the color of my present bars after.(Check previous update) Mike Dominguez pretty much did a 900 on a bike like this and here I am happy just doing these tricks! The sunglasses are a joke just so you know!

News News News

Let’s start off with the fact that the frames have finally made their way into Europe. Bodo from Sport Import in Germany wrote me yesterday that part of the frame shipment has arrived. So, if you live in Germany, get your frames quck because the partial shipment won’t last long.

More ‘International’ news, Sunday Bikes and Ryder Distribution are proud to announce that trancontinental traveler, friend and Niagara Falls local Lee Dennis has joined the Canadian Sunday Bikes team. Lee has been tearing it up around the Niagara Falls area for awhile, he really seems like he can do what he wants on a bike. He stop by the shop last Wednesday to build up his frame then the next morning left for a month long trip out to Edmonton and BC. So if you see Lee on his trip then you will see the bike below.

In US team news, you can check Vinnie Sammon’s interview in the 95th issue(WOW!!) of Ride UK. Ride UK has been around for 95 issues—amazing! Also, check out UK team rider Mike Taylor’s feeble to barspin sequence in the Battle Royale article! So good! Karl Poynter has an interview on DEFGRIP, so go and check that out.

In my news, here is a picture of me fleeing the terrential rain storms in Buffalo as well as my ass! Oh and I deleted my myspace account, let’s see how long this last!

Jim’s Bike!

Here is a photo of what my bike looks like today. I put one of the gray frames together for the gyro tabs, but as you can see there aren’t any brakes, so no gyro. I haven’t killed myself yet and my bike has never been quieter! Check back, there will be more photos of the rest of the team’s bikes who incidently are all riding gray frames. Well maybe not Mike Hoder because he changes the color all the time. If you want to learn how to do double peg grinds without pegs, then check out what Mike has to say HERE
