Spot Seeking with Alex Magallan

Alex Magallan still looking for spots while on vacation up in Michigan.  Here he gaps to manuals this weird ledge while his brother ,Nathan, is forced to shoot the photo. Way to go guys! Liking this one!  If you don’t know, Alex is filming for a Props Owned section which I personally cannot wait for.

Picnic time!

Justin Dargis just sent over his amazing version of Aaron Ross’ Picnic bike for Sunday Friends.  It’s been awhile, so this is a great way to bring Sunday Friends back.  Feel free to email your Sunday bike photos and if it’s good enough then we will put it up on the site.  Thanks Justin, your bike looks amazing!

Tables going ’round!

There’s been a lot of table photos go around the internet lately.  Here’s Gary Young putting San Diego style into a table at the Jacksonville Skatepark in Oregon while on a recent Odyssey trip.  Thanks to Tom Perry for the photo. Enjoy!

Anthony Wilson Bike Check

Anthony Wilson is easily one of my favorite people to ride with.  He has a super fun attitude, works hard, has his own ideas and does it all with style. Here is his watermelon green Funday with matching Morning 2.1 forks and black magic Victory bars.  He’s always been one of those guys that is good at just about anything he tries.  Check out the threader feeble grind in the flipbook which is at some spot in Buffalo that I don’t know about.  Thanks to Charlie Crumlish for the photos.

Behind the scenes: Magallan’s Ride BMX TOC

Alex Magallan just scored the table of contents photo in the August 2011 Ride BMX.  Here’s a behind the scenes photo of Jeff Z setting up for the photo.  I would’ve had the actual shot that you see in the magazine, but I was talking to the security guards trying to buy enough time for Alex and Jeff to get the photo.  I never actually saw it happen, but I did see the security guard’s facial reaction after Alex did the move first try.  It was nice to sort of feel like we won in this case.

24umph XL bars now availalbe!

Look what else just came in stock, brand new 24umph XL bars which are half inch taller 24″ BMX bars.  The direction of 24″ BMX bar height is going up.  The original 24umph bars dramatically changed 24″ BMX bar height back in 2008 and the new 24umph XL bars continue this phenomenon.  Running a taller set up on your Model C improves your bunnyhop, allows the front end to come up easier, gives more room and just makes things easier.

Ride BMX overload!

We just received the August 2011 issue of Ride BMX in our office today and the team is well represented in the issue.  First, Alex Magallan has the table of contents at a spot only he would see.  Gary Young blasts a sick table out of a pool in the Odyssey ad and then he does an over toothpick on the subscription page.  The team metalhead, Jake Seeley, talks about his love of metal in the Diversions section.  As always the team shreds and if you look close enough then you’ll see a sneak peek of one of the 2012 complete bikes in the magazine as well.

Hill bombs for breakfast?

Lee Dennis is out at Woodward West right now and just so happen to film his ride down from the Lodge to camp.  This is such a fun ride, I couldn’t imagine doing this without brakes.  Enjoy!  Happy Fourth of July everyone!
