Go over to ESPN to check out the final installment of my Framed interview with Mark Noble. In this half, we talk about frame weight limits, more Model C talk and the future for Sunday. If you missed the first interview then go read it right HERE.
Plus 4 bars and forks!
We’ve given our 24″ parts selection a specific name, so if you start seeing Plus 4 don’t be confused. The way these bikes ride, its just a 20″ plus 4″ more. There’s not too much of a difference in feel. The term “cruiser” doesn’t describe these parts very well. Either way the Plus 4 edition of our product line will essentially be our regular products, bumped up to modern 24″ geometry. Available now are the Plus 4 editions of the Morning fork entitled Morning 24.1 and the Forumph bar called the 24ump. Model C frames are currently on the water and should be available in the US sometime around mid-April.
Up, Up and Away news!
So we’ve had great response to the Up, Up and Away trailer! If you’d like to watch it again, but don’t feel like searching through the site then just click on the Sunday Hot Air Balloon on the upper left of the page! Or you can watch it over on youtube right here. In more news, the video is having the finishing touches done to it over the next few days then off for duplication. Look for it to be out in mid to late April!
Ugh Trampolines!
Aaron Ross had an unfortunate incident the other day involving a tramp bike. Just messing around, he ended up having the dropout go into his knee. The wound created was so deep that air enter his knee. This caused him to have to stay in the hospital overnight to get his knee scoped and flush the air out. He can’t walk right now, but he’s feeling better. He should be back on his feet in a week and riding in two. Get well soon Aaron! Here’s a story about the incident on BMXonline!
Niklas Kobis Bike Check!
Niklas Kobis is on flow for us in Germany through our distributor Sport Import. He did a good bike check of his Black Magic Funday kit that you can see on Freedom BMX. So go HERE and see his bike!

Have you ever had some questions about how Sunday started? Or maybe you need further explanation about how our innovative frame features work? Well if you’re one of these people than you should check out this interview I did recently with Mark Noble for the ESPN website. There’s a bunch more stuff on there too that you might be interested in. Go read the interview HERE! Then stay tuned to ESPN’s site for Part 2 of the interview.
Jake Seeley bike photo!
Jake Seeley just sent me photos of his latest bike set up. He is riding a full pale yellow Ian Schwartz kit that now includes orange parts as the accent color. The newest news from Jake is that he’s been added to the Stolen Parts team. Look for an amazing part coming in Up, Up and Away from Jake! Congratulations on the new sponsor!
Up Up and Away!!!!!!!!!!
Well here it is! This the trailer for our first video entitled Up, Up and Away! Filmed and edited by Chad Shackelford with filming help from Bill Bottriell. The video will feature riding by Aaron Ross, Ian Schwartz, Kurt Rasmusson, Alex Magallan, Mike Taylor, Jake Seeley, Joe Cox, Lee Dennis, Eric Lichtenberger, Jim Cielencki and Stephen Savage. Look for it in stores by the end of April!
Saying Goodbye!
So The Come Up leaked this info awhile ago and I’ll confirm it now. Karl Poynter has decided to leave the Sunday team. I’ve been a fan of Karl’s unique view on riding ever since he was that 13 year old kid at the Four Seasons contest in Milwaukee back in 2001. This explains why he was selected to be one of the first guys on Sunday when it was started almost 4 years ago. Its been a great 4 years and I’m definitely going to miss him. Wish you luck Karl! Check out Karl’s words about moving on from the team after the jump.
Aaron Ross bike check!
Aaron Ross sent me a photo of a new Funday setup that he just built after his Thailand trip. With the neon yellow cranks and wheels this is just as good as the previous ocean blue/pink bike. If you are heading to ABA National in Dallas during the weekend of March 21st, there’s a good chance you’ll see Aaron racing there. Devon Hutchins shot this photo.
Jim C/Model C bike check!
RideBMX has a really good Sunday Model C 24″ bike check and mini interview with me on their website. In the interview, I discuss some of the similarities and differences between riding a 20′ and 24″ BMX bike. Some Model C progress has been made, Odyssey Hazard Lite rims showed up at their warehouse today along with Morning 24.1 forks and 24umph bars. We won’t be releasing them yet for quality control reasons and we are still waiting on the frame arrivals which should be within a month. All of these photos were shot while I was California a few weeks ago. Look for some clips of the Model C in action sometime in the next few days. Probably sooner once I find a song I like!
