Gary’s New Paint Job!

Gary Young recently took some Krylon paint to his Forecaster frame.  When he wasn’t hanging out with Aaron Ross on U-Stream yesterday, he was painting his bike tan with a black splatter.  If you’re at Woodward West this week then go check out his bike in person because he’ll be there for a few days!

For this Friday, I have a Sunday Friends and a Flashback Friday all in one post!  Steve Cedro sent me photos of his OG Sunday frame from 2006!  This is the original metallic green with the original Spotlight graphics almost fully intact!  When this frame came out, there were so many features that differentiated it from the other company’s frames at the time.  Slowly our features have been adopted by other companies, but Sunday frames are still the only one using Odyssey‘s proven 41 Thermal heat-treating process.  Our hollow dropouts do NOT use investment casting, we use the same proven manufacturing method that riders around the world have enjoyed for the past 4 years.  There is a difference!

Kevin Jones on a Model C!

Check out this photo of Kevin Jones riding his Model C at the York Jam last weekend.  He said he can do basically everything on the Model C except undertakers.  If you’re unfamiliar with Kevin Jones then you should go buy the Dorkin’ boxset and learn a few things.  He’s probably the most influential flatlander ever and was one of my biggest influences as rider.  He invented Hang 5’s, whiplashes, steamrollers, hitchhikers and so many other tricks.  Flatland changed dramatically when Kevin and the rest of the Plywood Hoods came on the scene.  Their influence can easily be traced to today’s riding.  So, seeing this photo made my day.  Photo Eric Mitchell.

Gary Young off to Barcelona!

Gary Young is heading out to Barcelona to ride this contest above.  It takes place July 3-4 and should be seen live on Freecaster.  This may or may not be the link.  I’m sure the contest is going to be amazing, but Barcelona will be better!  That place is amazing!  Have fun Gary and good luck!
