Ok, so the Christmas Sunday bike check thing we’ve been doing is now turning into Sunday Friends. Christmas was awhile back, so it really didn’t make much sense to call it that any more. Here we have 2 Fundays in both Ocean Blue and Black Magic, one Black Magic Ian Schwartz and one Warm Red Second Wave kit! These all look sweet, in fact I will be riding the Warm Red kit next week! Can’t wait!
Sunday Facebook!
Sunday made it offical the other day by turning on our Facebook. So if you’re on Facebook go look for us right HERE. There’s a bunch of random photos on there that we really can’t put anywhere else. More will be added and you might even see a contest or too on there.
Jim Cielencki Parts Section!
Ok, so you don’t know what had to be done to resurrect this video from the grave. Nowadays it seems like a video is dead when it can’t be found online. Just cause there’s a hard copy floating around somewhere, doesn’t mean its easily accessible. To get this part it took lots of emails, phone calls, getting a VCR and waiting for a camera from the UK. Either way this is my first real video part from Ride BMX‘s 2001 video release entitled Parts. My part was almost entirely filmed by Jeff Zielinski and the video was edited by Glenn PP Milligan. Hope you enjoy it!
Christmas Sunday 4
Here we go the last batch of Christmas Sunday bike checks. On this update, are 3 Second Waves, 1 Pale Yellow Ian Schwartz frame kit and one Ocean Blue Funday!
Custom Cycle Supply!
Sunday is proud to welcome Custom Cycle Supply to our team! We’re really excited to have Custom distribute Sunday, they’ve only been on board for a few weeks and they’ve already done some impressive work for us. They distribute everywhere especially in the southeast, so if your shop doesn’t carry Sunday, tell them they can now get it through Custom! Check out their website right here!
Doin’ Thangs! Karl Poynter
Here’s an interesting insight into Sunday team rider Karl Poynter, I bet you didn’t know he is a “killer”? Watch the video above to find out who he “kills” and go over to ESPN‘s site to read more of an interview with him.
Moving on!
This is sort of old news around Buffalo, but I’ve parted ways (on good terms) from the Sunday SkateBMX shop that I help co-found back in 2005. Go over to RideBMX and read the interview I did with Jeff Z about moving on. I’ve been trying to settle into a new office, so look for a photo tour soon.
Sunday Frame giveaway!
That’s right Albe’s is giving a SUNDAY SECOND WAVE frame away FREE! Go over to their site and see what you need to do to win frame! No tailwhips or barspins required!
Jake and the Mexican Manual Pad
Well, its 2009 and I decided to gather up some unused footage from last year. The story behind this is after we did a demo in Guadalajara Mexico, Jake Seeley spent about 10 minutes riding this inadvertent manual pad. Nothing too serious, but he fired off a bunch of tricks real quick and easy. The kids gathered around to watch then Jake almost hit an old man on crutches walking through the crowd. I still don’t know how he actually made it through everyone though. The vibe was great in Mexico, we had a lot of fun and I believe the kids did too! More videos soon!
This is cool!
Brian Banghart was one of the first people to get a Sunday frame when it was first made available in the late spring of 2006. He pre-booked it right from the Sunday shop and had it shipped directly from Blackout all the way out to Colorado. Here are some photos of his bike still running today over two and half years since he first put it together. I think this is good testimony towards the strength and durability of Sunday frames. Can’t imagine a lot of the frames out there lasting this long. Check out more photos below to see Brian not taking it easy on this frame.
Jim Cielencki, Odyssey 2003
Here is my part from the first Odyssey video. It was filmed in and around the Atlanta area and my special guest is my former Kink team mate Rob Tibbs. Most of this section was filmed by Rich Hirsch from Lotek with some added footage from Brad ‘Puck’ Byrne. You’ll hear him laugh at the end. There’s too much to write about this, so just enjoy the video.
