Chris Hilbrich’s Model D

Model-D

Chris Hilbrich has been riding the Model-D for a few weeks now. He says if feels really good on trails which is exactly what we intended this frame for. The Model-D is designed for the trails with its longer rear end, higher bottom bracket and mellower headtube. We didn’t attach the trail name so we could disguise a light weight frame. We designed the frame around specific users. This is for trails where a Second Wave would be for street. Simple!

Here are a few photos of me riding the Model-C right after Interbike. I couldn’t run them without getting into trouble, but now I don’t have to worry about that anymore! Look for an update release date for all the new 2009 frames.

Aaron Ross Funday!

Aaron Ross Funday!

Here’s the check out of the new Aaron Ross Funday frame. The frame drawings have been finalized so its off to production now with an arrival date of after the first of the year.

Off to Trick or Treat Jam!

Loading up the van.

Yep, we are leaving for Rochester in a little bit to go to the Red Bull Trick or Treat Jam at the old armory on Main St. Karl Poynter, Kevin Porter, Lil’ Anthony and myself are heading out to meet back up with Jeff Z and Aaron Ross. None of us have jumped a coffin or rode a Hearse before so this should be fun. Oh and Reez set up a fog machine too! Not sure if its a legal fog though! Haha! See you there!

Karl Poynter Second Wave!

Karl Poynter's 2nd Wave

Check out Karl Poynter‘s new colorway. We took a Sunday Second Wave frame with all the super good features and let Karl come up with his own paint job. What he did was use a coral red just around the top tube/seat tube junction and have the rest of the frame be Black Magic. Then we played off his name sort of by using arrows for the decals. Look for this early next year.

Check out more photos of the frame in the products page (under the 2nd Wave frame).

Eric L Bike Check and New Ian Color!

Eric Lichtenberger stop by the office for a pair of pedals and ended up leaving with a new bike. We showed this 2009 Ian Schwartz which is the first frame to have a built in Pivotal Post as our display bike at Interbike and it looked so good that Eric decided he’d like to ride it as his own. To be honest this is my favorite color that Sunday has ever done. The color is basically Post-It Note yellow and we were suppose to do a color similar to this for the original Wave frames that came out 2 years ago. I know it says 2009 colorway, but it should be available at shops by the first week of November so be on the look out. More frame info coming soon!

More Model-C questions and random photos!

Jim C's Model-C

Okay, here is a few more random photos that I just found from the weekend I built up my Model-C. It was fun just dorking around on it and it was even more fun when you realized everything was possible on it. Just a few more questions.

1) If you had to choose 2 top tube lengths to offer which ones would it be?
2) From the sounds of it, you guys aren’t interested in a 21″, would this be correct thought?

Please leave all the answers in the comments section! Thanks again!

More Model-C pics!

Jim C - Model-C Air

Here’s a few more photos of the Model-C‘s built up. Nothing too detailed, but you should be able to see the frame, fork and bars a little more. Action photos taken by Ron Plumlee.

Sunday Model-C

The Model-C

So, Interbike has come and go for another year. Thankfully it will be another year before we do it all again and unfortunately its only a year before we have to do it again. Either way I wanted to take this week and talk about some of the products we showed at our booth.

New this year is Sunday’s version of a cruiser called the Model-C, but luckily it doesn’t come anywhere close to riding like a traditional racing cruiser rather if feels more like a larger version of a normal 20″ BMX bike. Along with this frame, we made 24umph bars (7.25″ rise) and Morning 24.1 forks which are just Morning 2.1 forks built into cruiser forks.

Mike Taylor and his buddy Nails

BSD/Dig edit. Summer Roadtrip 08 from BSD on Vimeo.

This is Mike Taylor and his buddy Nails who we give parts too. Its actually from a BSD trip they went on. You’ll have to make it through a bunch of skatepark footage to see the guys riding, so hold tight.

Sunday stickers put to good use!

This the best, I love seeing this stuff! Skier J sent me the first one and the second one was right at the front door of Interbike! More updates later this week when I’m not riding the Bruiser!

Aaron Ross gets Bronze!

Congratulations to Aaron Ross for getting the bronze in street at last weekends X-Games in Mexico. Check out the video to see the highlights and Aaron’s excitement when he does the smith to whip. I guess he battled a bunch of flat tires during the contest, but I couldn’t really tell it from the video. More when I talk with him later!
