24umph XL bars now availalbe!

Look what else just came in stock, brand new 24umph XL bars which are half inch taller 24″ BMX bars.  The direction of 24″ BMX bar height is going up.  The original 24umph bars dramatically changed 24″ BMX bar height back in 2008 and the new 24umph XL bars continue this phenomenon.  Running a taller set up on your Model C improves your bunnyhop, allows the front end to come up easier, gives more room and just makes things easier.

Height:  7.75″
Width:  28″

Here today, gone tomorrow!

Ride your spots today because they might be gone tomorrow.  This Wave-C carve on this narrow tight tranny in Austin has been rendered unrideable right now.  The building has been vacant for a long time, but not anymore.  This photo is from a month ago and I remember saying that I should come back for it.  Luckily, I did it that day.

Check out the Gif of this image in the Sunday banner and an interview with me at Old Guys Who Ride right HERE.

Check on Jon Faure’s brand new Wave C frame with 24umph bars and Morning 24.1 forks.  Jon has been riding Sunday 24″ bikes since late 2009, check out this interview we did with him about his Model C experience.  He’s got some big plans coming up this year so definitely look for more from him. Check out his web site, www.oldguyswhoride.com and realize that you’ll be able to ride well into your 40’s and 50’s.  Maybe even longer?  His parts list is below.  Thanks Jon, you’re bike looks great!

Sunday Spy Shot!

Thought we could show you this spy shot of some of the new 24umph XL bars that we are riding.  We’ve added a half inch to the original 24umph bar height. The dimensions will be 7.75″ rise and 28″ wide with 12 degrees backsweep and 4 degrees upsweep.  I put them on my Wave-C for a test run the other day, I could bunnyhop easier and pop into nosewheelies much better.  Not sure if it made doubles runs easier, but TJ Henderson and I filmed this clip that day.  The testing is going well so far.  Arrival dates should be later this spring and yes 990 mount 24.1 forks will be here in March.  More updates to come!

Wave C frames now available!

Yes, the highly anticipated 24″ Wave C frame is now available!  We’ve made some updates to the original Model-C frame that make it even stronger and more agile. The chainstay length was shortened from 15″ to 14.6″ which will allow the front end to come up easier and make it easier for spinning tricks. All of our aftermarket frame features like Wave toptube and downtube, hollow dropouts with built in chain tensioner, removable brake mounts, cable channel, post-weld machining of the bb and headtube and 41 Thermal heat-treating can all be found on this frame.  Plus we’ve added more room to the frame by offering it in a larger 22″ size, so you’ll be able to get it in either 21.25″ or 22″.  This is one tough frame!  Check after the break for the frame specs and features.

Sunday Friends:
Colby Mockler

It’s been awhile since we’ve done a Sunday Friends, but this is Colby Mockler’s brand new Wave-C freshly purchased from Empire BMX.  This bike couldn’t look much more tough!  Colby might actually be one of the first people to own a Wave-C since it just arrived in shops last week.  Can’t wait to see more Wave-C photos!

Wave C Bike Check on ESPN

Here’s a quick shot of my Sunday Wave C in action at the R.A.S.P. Skatepark in Rochester, NY.  ESPN just posted more photos of this bike along with some amazing wallpaper in a bike check over the weekend.  In the post, there’s a little interview talking about the pros and cons of the Sunday 24″ geometry. Wave C’s should be in stores very soon!  Photo: Casey Haley

Wave-C Lunch Break

Here’s some Wave-C action!  Hop from the top into the little landing all while avoiding traffic in the road afterwards.  This roller coaster spot is on the way back to the Sunday office from our usual lunch spot.  This is me riding a 22″ version of the Wave-C which should be available in early February.
