News!!!!

Check out Dominik Wrobel’s bike along with his laundry! He is one of the few on the team who isn’t riding a gray Sunday frame. Also check out his website WoozyBMX.

Let’s see there is some other news, there is a limited quantity of Sunday frames with a 14.25″ rear end available. I have gotten requests for them, so they will be available real soon. Check the mailorders(Albes) and If you want your shop to have one then contact Sunday directly because they won’t be available through Blackout. Or just email ME and we will figure something out.

In team news, Ian Schwartz is so close to riding again! One week to go! But Mike Hoder hurt his hand trying to 180 out of a double wheel ride down a rail. He is waiting for the swelling to go down before getting it X-rayed. So wish him luck! Eli Platt is one month away from finishing his college degree! Vinnie Sammon was at the Brooklyn Banks filming a FuelTV commerical last time I talked with him. Karl Poynter has been doing what I have been doing working at his shop

A little Update!

Everything has been really busy like usual! Let me start off this update with some current photos of the teams bikes. It looks like the team is really fond of the gray color because in the last update, I had one. There are two more here and I know that everyone else is riding the same color. Hopefully photos to prove it next update!

Vinnie is now riding this bike-

And Karl is riding this bike-

Ian Schwartz is on the last stage of recovering from his broken wrist! He has been off his bike for about 2.5 months and I imagine he is anxious to ride some of the new parts that I sent him. Has anyone seen the Dan’s commercial in the newest Props? The one where Ian does the fakie to tailwhip footplant on a wall?

In bad news, Germany rider Christian Ziegler recently broke his leg riding trails! It was bad enought that he has been in the hospital for over a week! He got out today and should be healed up in about 3 months! Get healthy soon Christian!

For me, my injury news is that I fell on a 540 where my shoe came off and I immediately stuck my now shoeless foot into the spokes of my front wheel. It sounds a lot worse than it was, but my feet have gone through a lot in the past 9 months, so they aren’t too happy.

Now in retro news, I had the honor of working on a bubble gum pink Hutch Trickstar at the shop yesterday. If you don’t know Hutch, well let me help you. This bike is from around 1986 and it was the bike to have back then. My two favorite colors were candy apple red and electric blue which incidently is what I modeled the color of my present bars after.(Check previous update) Mike Dominguez pretty much did a 900 on a bike like this and here I am happy just doing these tricks! The sunglasses are a joke just so you know!

News News News

Let’s start off with the fact that the frames have finally made their way into Europe. Bodo from Sport Import in Germany wrote me yesterday that part of the frame shipment has arrived. So, if you live in Germany, get your frames quck because the partial shipment won’t last long.

More ‘International’ news, Sunday Bikes and Ryder Distribution are proud to announce that trancontinental traveler, friend and Niagara Falls local Lee Dennis has joined the Canadian Sunday Bikes team. Lee has been tearing it up around the Niagara Falls area for awhile, he really seems like he can do what he wants on a bike. He stop by the shop last Wednesday to build up his frame then the next morning left for a month long trip out to Edmonton and BC. So if you see Lee on his trip then you will see the bike below.

In US team news, you can check Vinnie Sammon’s interview in the 95th issue(WOW!!) of Ride UK. Ride UK has been around for 95 issues—amazing! Also, check out UK team rider Mike Taylor’s feeble to barspin sequence in the Battle Royale article! So good! Karl Poynter has an interview on DEFGRIP, so go and check that out.

In my news, here is a picture of me fleeing the terrential rain storms in Buffalo as well as my ass! Oh and I deleted my myspace account, let’s see how long this last!

I haven’t killed myself yet and my bike has never been quieter! Check back, there will be more photos of the rest of the team’s bikes who incidently are all riding gray frames. Well maybe not Mike Hoder because he changes the color all the time. If you want to learn how to do double peg grinds without pegs, then check out what Mike has to say HERE

News Update!

It has been a little while since there has been an update. Frames are available and are doing in well! Have your shop call Blackout soon because they won’t be available much longer! If you have photos of your Sunday frame built up, please send them to me!

The team has been really busy as of late, Karl Poynter just got back from Props Roadfools where he subbed in and he ended up getting invited on the next one.
Mike Hoder is on his way to California with Bruce Crisman on a Facade Clothing trip.
Ian Schwartz is still fighting his broken wrist maybe I will get a photo of him in his cast for the next update.
Eli Platt has been busy himself, anyone see his tailwhip down the big 5 in Atlanta in the lastest Ride BMX? You can also see the rest of his interview that wasn’t in the Ride issue here!
Vinnie Sammon was in Richmond last time I talked to him, he was on his way to Dave Mirra’s house with Glen Milligan. I wonder what he learned in the foam pit? Also, look for Vinnie’s interview coming up in Dig or Ride UK, I can’t remember which one!
Jim Cielencki, I have been trying to get ride of my burnout by playing mini golf, batting cages and go carts, but it isn’t working!

Anyone see the new Shook trailer? Well you should!

Guess What?

Sunday frames are in at Blackout! So they are available today!

Shook return!

Sunday is excited to hear that Shook is returning back to the BMX world and even more excited to say that you can see Karl Poynter’s bio in the newest one which will be available in the next few weeks!

News Update!

Let me start with the frames, although it has taken a little bit, the Sunday frame is going to available at you local shop or mailorder between May 30-June 2. Be careful, I think they are going to go quickly, most of the mailorders are having prebooks, so be warned.

There has been some concern about the minimum price of the Sunday frame. As well as the pricing of a Taiwanesse frame vs an American frame. Take a high-end Taiwan frame at $290 dollars and add forged hollow dropouts, post-weld BB and HT machining, specialty paint, rust-proofing, no visible exterior vent holes and 41-Thermal processing. The price has to go up to reflect these changes. In this case it has increased by approximately 40 dollars. At $330 dollars, these features are a bargain.

Now do the same thing to a $320 dollar US frame. Add the forged hollow dropouts, post-weld BB and HT machining, specialty paint, rust-proofing, no visible exterior vent holes and 41-Thermal processing. The price will increase substanitally. My guess is that it will have a final minimum price of $390 dollars or higher.

Team News
First, Karl Poynter got 2nd place at the recent Baco Jam in Wisconsin. He sounded surprised all his tricks worked, he also used his luck to get out of a speeding ticket on the way home. So congradulations go to him, who would have thought we would have a contest rider on the Sunday team?

Karl at the winner’s stand and behind the wheel!

Dominik Wrobel from Germany and of WoozyBMX fame, has an interview on Defgrip. So check that out!

Speaking of Germany, our distributor over there, Sport Import, is sponsoring the first major contest of the summer called Highway2Hill. It is being held at Mellowpark, I believe this is the same place that they had the Rebel Jam last year.

I did a little interview thing for Databmx from France. It is cool because it is in 2 languages, but no I do not know French.

More news later!

New Shirts!

Since, I have been way too busy doing just about everything else with Sunday, there hasn’t been any new shirts until now. The first is “Sunday Best” which is the one with the tie. Next, “Fine Print” takes the exclamation point and makes it not as loud. Third, “Exclaimer” takes Sunday’s adopted symbol and well makes it louder. Lastly, is the return of the “Yell!” shirt, but his time it is in White with blue print. These should all be available really soon.

New Sunday Distributor!

Okay, so now Sunday Bikes is not only found in the US, Canada , England, Germany, Japan, Australia, Russia, but you can find them now in South Africa! Empire Cycle Supply is now the distributor there and it should be available around the end of summer!
