Ian was in Buffalo a few days ago filming for the upcoming Sunday video. I shot some closeups of his bike, so you can see the features of the frame in action. Notice his modification of his freecoaster, the lack of dents in his downtube and bb and his wheel clearance with big tires.
Team Updates!
It seems Kurt has been quite busy lately. His latest work can not only be found inside the new RideBMX in the form of an interview, but on the very front page where he scored the cover. This is one of his first clips in his Left/Right video part and I can assure you it only get better from there. Kurt, Cover, 180 over the Wall of Life.
Joe Cox also has a 20 questions in the newest RideUK. Check it out if you get a chance, it is a pretty good read.
Sunday shop dog?
Check out this guy, he’s a 10 week old, yellow lab named Sunday! Yep, his name is Sunday. Monroe at Pedal Pushers in Severna, Maryland wrote me an email about their new shop pup. He said they’ve such good luck with frames that they decided Sunday was the best name for their new dog. Pretty damn cool if you ask me.
Kurt spotting!
BMX Online has a new video up of a road trip from LA through Portland to Seattle. Kurt has a little section in there. Check it out here.
Brakeless Vinnie Frames
That’s right, brakeless Vinnie Sammon frames are now available or will be available by the middle of the week. So if you’ve been waiting for a brakeless black Sunday frame then wait no longer and hurry these won’t be available too much longer.
Did anyone see this photo of Jack Maddox in the latest BMX Plus? Jack is Mike Hoder‘s friend in Seattle and I hooked him up with 21.25″ creamsicle Sunday frame a few months back. You might also remember Jack from his check out in Shook a few months back.
Updates!
First off, Mike Taylor had his knee surgery the other day, I haven’t heard from him, but let’s hope it was successful. Have you read his interview in Dig Issue 58? It really captures his sense of humor as well as his damn good riding! Mike won’t be riding for awhile, but here are a few more photos of him in the meantime, here, here and here!
In South African news, Stephen Savage flew over to the US last week. After doing the tourist thing in NYC, he is now down in NC hanging out with Chad Shack from Shook. They are both coming up to Buffalo after the 4th of July, so we can go up to Toronto to ride! Check out this interview with Stephen.
In German news, Christian Ziegler has gotten back from his horrible injury. Check out woozybmx for an interview with him. Learn about injuries, working, new skateparks and being a father.
Retro Ian video part!
This is Ian Schwartz’s video part from Andy Marshall’s video Day Late Dollar Short. The video came out somewhere around 2001 or 2002. I was on Roadfools 9 when I first saw this video and we ended up watching it religiously on the trip. Very refreshing and interesting because everyone in the video was unknown at the time. Look closely and you can see Ian’s orginality today, but in an early form. Youtube is the best!
Some team news today!
Let’s start this off by showing you a picture of Karl Poynter’s new Jaguar green frame. This color will be available in the next month and is inspired by Joe Cox and Mike Taylor being from the UK. Karl also wrote a story for the come up about an Atlanta trip he went on recently. Karl went on the QBP trip which is in the latest Props, so look for that!
Speaking of Mike Taylor, he is about to go under the knife this Wednesday. Mike has had some bad luck when it comes to knees and he hurt it back in September on the Padded Cell roadtrip. He is finally able to get it taken care of this week, but he will be out of commission for the next 5 months! He had to film most of his tricks for the Sunday video over the past 2 months!
Vinnie Sammon texted me the other day about having to take on EE of the Supra Team! EE got all east LA vato when Vinnie talked to him about Terry Kennedy. EE thought he was tough and ended up getting roughed up by Vinnie and friends. Too funny! In other news, brakeless Vinnie frames will be available in about a week, so look for them!
New T’s!
Here is the new version of the Sunday Yell shirt, it should be in stores within the next week or two. There are more shirts and hoodies coming soon! I’m excited about this one too! Just trying to get it right first! In bar and fork news, they should both be restocked in the next week or so also, but they will be going quick. Congratulations to the Anaheim Ducks who won the Stanley Cup yesterday!
Dominik Wrobel video!
The description of this video made by Shrederdan is Dominik from Woozybmx Magazine rolling around, so enjoy it and check out Woozy!
Jim’s New Bike!
Well, I have been riding the toothpaste color for a long time and I was looking for a change. So here it is, one Sunday kit all in creamsicle color. In other news, I hyper-extended my knee really bad 3.5 weeks ago. The day I put this together was my first day riding again, not a bad way to come back. Also, Databmx did an interview with me, so check that out in their interview section here.
